A Day in Cesena, Italy

Writing about these trips has always been exciting, it allows me to relive these memories and remind myself that I'm not just a loser sitting in my room (huhu).
Getting to Cesena
It's about an hours' train ride away from Bologna, and the return ticket was only about €6.80 per person (pretty cheap!). The most exciting about the train was the three decks it has and the breakfast we packed for the ride (yay us for saving money and having food to eat in the train).

It's a quaint and pretty little town - somewhere to read a book for hours while sipping coffee or eating Gelato. If you only have a few days in Italy and want the adrenaline-pumping-blood-rushing-fast-and-furious-broom-broom kind of activities, I think you can skip this town. If you're looking for a quiet place to enjoy your new lo-fi playlist, or to write a book (to be the author you aspire to be), or to just relax and chill, Cesena would be perfect.
Just like Bologna, it is best enjoyed with a little bit of sunlight and good spirit (we had the sunlight, good spirit subsequently died down but I'll get into that later!). It is small and very easily walkable, so if you want to ditch your trainers and finally wear some nice-looking heels/sandals/flats, it would be picture-perfect.

I'm not sure if it was a special event, but we came across this pretty outdoor market in the middle of the city. They sold all kinds of clothes - thrifty, old €2 clothes? Gotchu covered. Leather-looking brown jackets for a night out? Sure thang. Shiny-and-in-your-face halter neck tops? Here's a whole range. Pretty and ladylike lace dresses? Right here, me lady. They also had fresh fruits and vegetables in another area (that we obviously didn't go to).
A good selection of food, clothes (local and international brands) and of course, Gelato shops everywhere. I can't describe it in any other way (should totally read more books to expand my vocabulary), it's just very pretty. It's like you're stuck in the golden hour and the maroon and brown walls just bounces off the rays of the sun, reflecting its goodness. It's warm, it's nice, you just feel like lying on the ground, you suddenly love nature and bees and flowers and want to generously donate all your money - that kind of pretty, yknow?
Lunch @ Casamadie

The portions were quite large, with generous sides of potatoes and salad. It was slightly pricier because it was smack in the middle of town, but it was still reasonable and tasty.

We planned a trip to Cesena solely because there was a hot air balloon festival there at that time. In short: I was (very very very) disappointed. I would probably have enjoyed myself (and this gorgeous town) a lot more if it weren't for this event :')
Expectations versus reality (yes, one dull balloon... to be fair they released another two or three like half an hour later lol... to also be fair they mentioned that the weather was bad... but... I paid to see pretty colours in the sky!).
